Artisan Soap Watermelon Splash - Summer Freshness, Handmade
A soap that you smell and immediately think: summer. The Artisan Soap Watermelon Splash opens with the juicy freshness of watermelon, develops into a fruity-cooling heart of lychee and cucumber, and finishes on a soft base of green, woody notes. The result is a fragrance that is fresh, playful, and unmistakably summery.
This soap is handmade via the cold process method in our soap workshop in Velsen-Noord. Four nourishing oils—shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, and castor oil—are saponified cold and then cured for at least 6 weeks. During that curing process, natural glycerin is created and stays in the soap. This is something that is removed from industrial soap. That glycerin makes the difference: your skin is cleansed and hydrated at the same time.

What is cold process soap?
Our artisan soap is made differently than the body bars in our range. In the cold process method, plant-based oils and butters are saponified cold with lye (sodium hydroxide). During saponification, the oils turn into soap and glycerin. The lye reacts completely and no lye remains in the final product.
After pouring and cutting, the soap cures for at least 6 weeks. During this time, the soap hardens, the pH becomes milder, and the texture develops. The result is an artisan product that is softer, more nourishing, and kinder to the skin than industrial soap.
How does Watermelon Splash smell?
The fragrance is built up in three layers:
🍉 The opening – Juicy, fresh watermelon. Immediately recognizable and cheerful.
🍈 The heart – Lychee and cucumber. Fruity and cooling, with a soft sweetness.
🌿 The base – Green, woody notes that give the scent a subtle depth and prevent it from becoming too "candy-like."
The overall picture: fresh summer fruit with a sophisticated, green undertone. A fragrance that is more mature than you would expect from "watermelon."
Four nourishing oils
🧈 Shea butter - Hydrates deeply and makes the soap extra creamy and soft on the skin.
🥥 Coconut oil - Provides a rich, creamy lather and cleanses effectively.
🫒 Olive oil - Mild, nourishing oil that keeps the skin soft and supple. The foundation of every good cold process soap.
🌿 Castor oil - Stabilizes the foam and makes it creamier. Adds softness to the cleansing experience.
🧴 Natural glycerin - Created during the saponification process and stays in the soap. Attracts moisture and keeps the skin hydrated.
How to use Artisan Soap?
- Wet your hands or skin.
- Rub the soap between your wet hands or directly over your skin until a lather forms.
- Massage the lather in and rinse off with water.
💡 Tip: Use the soap in a soap pouch. It lathers even better and the soap lasts longer.
💡 Keep the soap dry between uses in a soap pouch or on a soap dish with an open bottom outside of the shower. Cold process soap is softer than industrial soap and dissolves faster if left in water.
💡 Switching from shower gel to solid soap for the first time? Your skin may feel a little different for the first few weeks. After 1 to 2 weeks, most customers notice that their skin feels softer and healthier than before.
