Where the difference lies
A bottle of shampoo consists mostly of water. A shampoo bar does not contain that water: it only contains the active ingredients pressed into a block. This makes a bar small and light, and it does not require a bottle. What exactly a bar is and how it differs from a bottle is explained in this article about solid shampoo.
Our bars come in a cardboard box. We pack and ship plastic-free, including the filling material in the box. We make the bars by hand ourselves in our own soap factory in Velsen-Noord, and we have been doing so since 2019. One bar lasts for about eighty washes on average. How many that is for you depends on your hair length and, above all, on how you store the bar: if you let it dry on a soap dish between washes, it will last longer than if it is left wet in a closed container. Why is a bar so much smaller than a bottle of shampoo?

What is the difference between a shampoo bar and regular soap?
They look similar, but the recipe is different. Regular soap is made by saponifying oils and is higher on the pH scale. A shampoo bar is composed of surfactants and falls within the range that suits hair and scalp, between 4.5 and 5.5.
