Body Bars

A body bar is shower gel in solid form. You use it just like a bar of soap, but it has a more nourishing formula and dries out your skin less. One bar easily replaces two bottles of shower gel.

Wet the bar and your skin and rub it over your body, or lather it up with your hands or a washcloth. Then rinse off. After showering, put the bar somewhere it can dry.

A body bar is shower gel in solid form, made with shea butter, mango butter and cocoa butter. It has a slightly richer formula, which makes it suitable for dry or sensitive skin. Because it is soft and easy to cut, you can put a piece in every room.

Handmade soap is made with olive oil, shea butter, coconut oil and castor oil, cleanses a little more firmly and is suitable for every skin type. That soap gets harder as it ages and is easiest to use in one fixed spot, for example by the washbasin. The fragrances change with the seasons, while the body bar fragrances are a permanent part of the range.

With both, your skin needs a little time to get used to their natural character; that tight feeling disappears after a few washes. Have a look at the body bars or the handmade soap.

Store your bar in a dry spot that is not too warm and out of the stream of water: on a soap dish that can drain or in a soap bag. You will find both among our accessories. A bar left sitting in a puddle of water goes soft and wears out much faster.

Choose products without added fragrance and with a short ingredient list; you will find them in our Sensitive Skin category. Test a new product on a small patch of skin first, for example the crook of your elbow, and wait a day.

That is quite common with natural soap and does not mean anything is wrong. Our body bars contain no synthetic foaming agents or silicones that normally leave a smooth film on your skin. Especially if your skin is dry or sensitive, or used to shower gel, you will notice it at first. Hard water makes the effect stronger.

Use the bar a little less often at first, rinse well and then care for your skin with body butter or a cream. The unfamiliar feeling usually disappears within a few washes. If itching persists or gets worse, stop using it.
