How to get the most out of your silver shampoo bar
Let the lather sit for two to three minutes before rinsing. That is the difference between "nothing happens" and visibly cooler hair: the pigment needs contact time.
Start with once a week and build up according to what your hair needs. Alternate with a bar without pigment if your hair is very light or porous. Store the bar dry on a soap dish with an open bottom, and it will last longer.
Frequently asked questions about silver shampoo
Is silver shampoo bad for your hair?
No. Silver shampoo is just regular shampoo with purple pigment added. What people call "bad" is usually a purple tint: on very light or porous hair, pigment can build up if you leave it on too long or use it too often. Leaving it on for a shorter time or alternating with other bars solves this.
How often should I use a purple shampoo?
Once or twice a week is enough for most people. More frequent use is not better — the pigment builds up.
Does silver shampoo work on brown hair?
Only where yellow or orange tones are visible, for example in grown-out highlights or greying hair. You will hardly notice a difference on dark brown hair without lightened sections.
Does it also work on dyed hair?
