Red Clay Mask – The Circulation Booster for Radiant Skin
Red clay owes its striking color to a high concentration of natural iron oxide, a mineral that stimulates skin circulation. This makes red clay unique compared to other types of clay: while white kaolin soothes and green clay tackles impurities, red clay gives your skin an active boost from within. The result? A warmer, healthier glow that leaves your skin looking rested and vital.
For €7.95, you receive a tin of clay powder that allows you to create multiple masks.
What is red clay?
Red clay is a natural type of clay that owes its characteristic deep red color to iron oxide. It has been used for centuries in traditional skincare, including in the Mediterranean region and North Africa. The mineral in this product, Montmorillonite, is a type of clay known for its ability to release minerals into the skin, rather than just absorbing substances.
That is the difference from green clay or ghassoul: those draw impurities out of your skin. Red clay does this slightly as well, but simultaneously gives minerals back. It is a clay that cleanses and nourishes.
What does red clay do for your skin?
🔴 Stimulates circulation. This is the main benefit of red clay. The iron oxide in the clay stimulates microcirculation in the skin, the blood flow in the smallest blood vessels just below the skin's surface. Better circulation means more oxygen and nutrients to the skin cells, and a faster removal of waste products. The visible result: a warmer, healthier skin tone and a natural glow.
🔴 Gives the skin a healthy glow. Customers confirm it: "a beautiful and smooth but cared-for skin" and "makes the face lovely and soft". After rinsing off the mask, the skin has a noticeably fresher, warmer appearance, as if you have just had a facial massage.
Supports skin renewal.
The minerals in red clay, iron, silicon, magnesium, support the skin's natural renewal process. Older skin cells are shed faster, and younger cells reach the surface more quickly. This contributes to a more even, smoother skin texture.
🔴 Cleanses mildly without drying out. Red clay cleanses more gently than green clay or ghassoul. It absorbs light excess sebum and removes dead skin cells, but does not affect the moisture balance. Your skin feels clean and nourished after use, not tight or dry.
🔴 Improves skin tone. Due to the combination of stimulation, cleansing, and mineral delivery, red clay can help with uneven skin tone. After regular use, the skin looks fresher and more even.
Who is this clay mask for?
Red clay is the ideal choice for:
- Mature skin losing its glow and vitality
- Tired, dull skin that looks weary and lackluster
- Normal to dry skin that needs cleansing without dehydration
- Skin with an uneven tone wanting to look fresher and more uniform
- Anyone wanting to stimulate circulation for a natural, healthy glow
Not the right choice for: Very oily or acne-prone skin that requires strong sebum absorption. In that case, choose our Green Clay. Or for very sensitive skin that only tolerates the mildest clay, choose White Kaolin.
Instructions for use
- Mix a teaspoon of clay powder with a little water or hydrosol (e.g., rose water) until you have a smooth, spreadable paste.
- Apply a thin, even layer to your face, avoiding the eyes and lips.
- Leave the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes. Important: do not let the mask dry out completely — if it starts to feel tight or crack, rinse it off. A clay mask works best while it is still slightly damp.
- Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat your face dry with a clean towel.
- Apply your usual day or night cream afterward. Your skin will now absorb the care more effectively.
💡 Customer tip: Use a small brush to apply the mask; it distributes more evenly and is less messy.
💡 Tip: Mix the clay with rose water instead of tap water for an extra nourishing experience. Or add a drop of honey for extra hydration.
💡 Tip: Use a wooden or plastic spoon to mix the clay; metal can react with the minerals in the clay.
