The company Beesha was named Starter of the Year 2021 in Almere on Friday afternoon. Makers van Almere managed to secure the Bridge Builder Award. This is a prize for initiatives that collaborate with the municipality without the goal of making a profit.
Both prizes were presented on the national Day of the Entrepreneur. The election was organized for the first time this year. This day is intended to pay special attention to entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. Alderperson Maaike Veeningen announced the winners.
Starter of the Year
In addition to shampoo, Beesha also sells lip balm and skin products. These products are not only plastic-free, but also contain natural ingredients. Within two years, Beesha has grown into a company with various points of sale throughout the Netherlands and has worked on a webshop during that time.
Ben Bos, one of the founders, was able to accept the prize. "We didn't expect this. It is a great appreciation for what we have achieved over the past year." Thanks to the work of Beesha, about 80,000 plastic shampoo bottles were saved last year, say Oostwal and Bos of the Almere-based company.
